About us

Our History

The Braintree Community Partnership was established in 2011 to address the growing opioid epidemic. In 2016, with guidance from a regional opioid overdose prevention collaborative, a mission statement and organizational structure was created. In 2017, the Mayor of Braintree executed an Executive Order establishing the Braintree Community Partnership on Substance Use and with town funding, a full time coalition coordinator was hired. By 2020, the coalition rebranded as the Braintree Community Partnership, the membership created a youth focused mission statement, and 12 sector representations were established.

Our Mission

The Braintree Community Partnership aims to:

  • To raise awareness and educate the residents about substance use trends
  • To minimize youth access to alcohol, tobacco, nicotine delivery products, marijuana, opioids and other drugs
  • Support the implementation of evidence based prevention strategies in the community
  • Support individuals and families struggling with addiction

Our Vision: We envision a community that supports the physical, mental, and social well- being of Braintree residents, free from the negative effects of alcohol and other drugs.
