International Overdose Awareness and Ceremony

For approximately one week in August, purple and white flags are arranged in front of Town
Hall. The purple flags represent the number of Massachusetts lives lost (in the prior year) to
overdose, and the white flags represent the number of lives lost in Braintree. The flags and
the ceremony help raise awareness, reduce stigma, and spread the message that overdose is
preventable.
